SWIM FOR ALLIGATOR LIGHT HOUSE

The Swim for Alligator Lighthouse is an 8-mile open water swim. The Swim starts at the host hotel, Amara Cay Resort. Participants swim 4 miles, circle Alligator Lighthouse, and swim 4 miles back to Amara Cay Resort.

Large buoys will be placed at least every 1/4 mile. The course will be a down and back 8 mile race. The passage requires swimmers keep buoy markers on their left shoulder. Every team or individual is required a support kayak. The kayaks will have an official number with flag: Swim For Alligator Lighthouse. There will be no “feed” stations available in this race. All teams and individuals must provide their own support.

It is the swimmer’s responsibility to coordinate with their kayaker or another individual for feeding purposes. No volunteers will be specifically available for this purpose. The start will be in an in water start designated by officials. The swimmers will start/finish under an archway in the water. The start for 2 person/3 person/ 4 person relays will follow after the solo swimmers in time trial start about every ten seconds.
